CED Deal of the Year: Remote Source Lighting International, Inc.

Research Triangle Park-- Remote Source Lighting International, Inc. is the winner of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development's 1998 Deal of the Year Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.

Fast growing companies need to be able to leverage their technical innovations with cash and mutually beneficial corporate partnerships. This award recognizes that it takes leadership, persistence and know-how to make deals happen and that not all deals are created equal.

RSLI is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of advanced lighting and optical technologies, with a specialty in fiber optic lighting systems and a core competency in the development and production of illuminators. The company is the current leader in remote source lighting technologies. Dr Isaac Horton, CEO/Chairman, founded RSLI in November, 1994. The Senior Executive Staff includes Dr. George S. Chu, director and executive vice president, Charles Walker, CFO director, and Nelson Chu, president, RSLI Asia Division.

"We decided to invest in Remote Source Lighting International for several reasons, but one of the most important was Isaac Horton. Isaac is the type of entrepreneur investors love. Among his talents are his tremendous strategic mind and the fire in his belly. He's a successful long term thinker, a charismatic leader of people, and is tremendously energetic. Along with all of that, he has a really compelling technology. I believe strongly in both Isaac and Remote Source Lighting International." --Ford Worthy, A.M. Pappas & Associates
