Presenting Companies Selected for CED's Venture '99

Representatives from expanding industries seek funding at Southeast's Premier Venture Capital Conference

Research Triangle Park - Twenty companies in search of venture capital have been selected to present at the 16th Annual Venture '99, the Southeast's premier venture capital conference to be held April 28-29, 1999 at the Friday Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Presenting companies were carefully selected from more than 70 applications by a panel of members of the local entrepreneurial community. Presenters are chosen to reflect the diversity of North Carolina's entrepreneurial sector and include exciting newcomers and established ventures from diverse industries such as information technology, biotechnology, software, manufacturing, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

This year's Venture '99 presenters are:

Presenters will have an opportunity to appeal to more than 600 venture capitalists expected to attend the conference through 15-minute presentations. Break-out rooms will also be available for one-to-one meetings between presenters and venture capitalists.

In addition to the presenting companies, the conference features 10 early stage companies who will have booths set up throughout the day, as well as a keynote speech by Red Hat CEO and co-founder Bob Young. Conference attendees will also have many informal networking opportunities, including a cocktail reception April 28, small group dinners and an invitation-only golf tournament.

Venture '99 is open to anyone, and prices range from $150 to $445.

Venture '99 is presented by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, with support from the North Carolina Venture Capital Association, Kenan-Flagler Business School, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the North Carolina Technological Development Authority.
