CED Completes Selection of Demo Companies for Infotech 2002

Twenty Companies from across NC Will Showcase Hot Technology October 30 in RTP

August 21, 2002, Research Triangle Park, NC - The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) today announced the final ten companies chosen to demo their cutting-edge technologies at CED's 12th annual InfoTech 2002 conference in Research Triangle Park, N.C. on October 30. Twenty companies in all from across North Carolina were selected to participate in the Demo Room.

Presented by CED in partnership with The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) Carolinas and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, the conference will spotlight some of the most innovative technology developments pioneered by companies in the state.

"We have an excellent representation of companies from across North Carolina, which is a reflection of the mindshare the state has to offer," said Michael Preston, Principal, Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, and InfoTech 2002 Selection Committee Co-Chair. "We also have companies that are in different stages of their lifecycles from Series A round to those making more than $40 million in revenues."

Chaired by Kevin Flynn of Daniels & Daniels and Michael Preston of Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, the InfoTech 2002 Selection Committee includes seasoned entrepreneurs, investors and service professionals.

InfoTech 2002 will provide IT entrepreneurs, industry experts, technology executives, and investors opportunities to explore critical issues affecting the IT industry and to network with key players. Last year close to 900 attended CED's InfoTech 2001.

The conference is being held at The Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center in Research Triangle Park on October 30.
