Dylan Brooks of Jupiter to Preannounce
Results from Mobile Transactions Report;
RTPWI to Kick-off SIGs
September 9, 2002, Research Triangle Park, NC - With North Carolina serving as a wireless industry hotbed, The Research Triangle Park Wireless Initiative (RTPWI) will hold its quarterly program on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to discuss the current state and future of the global wireless industry. RTPWI, a joint initiative with the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Venturing at UNC-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, provides technology leaders and industry experts a forum to meet, plan, and discuss key wireless issues.
"RTP has historically proven to be a bellwether for trends that eventually sweep the nation and the globe," said Tracy Stutz, program manager, RTP Wireless Initiative. "We're extremely honored that Dylan Brooks has agreed to present-his enthusiasm is a testament to the fact that RTPWI is highly respected by wireless experts."
The highlight of the evening will be a keynote from Dylan Brooks, senior analyst with Jupiter Media Metrix, one of the world's top research firms. Brooks will discuss the global wireless marketplace, as well as an exclusive look at the results contained within an unreleased report on mobile transactions and m-commerce. The program will also kick-off RTPWI's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) - one focusing on wireless networks, the other on wireless applications.
"RTPWI is unique in its ability to line-up world class speakers, wireless startups, VCs, students and large corporations interested in the mobile marketplace," said Jane Foreman, VP of Marketing, Avesair. "We joined the group due to the interesting networking opportunities and we find true value in the quarterly programs."
The program will be held on Sept. 24 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m at MCNC, Building 1, 3021 Cornwallis Road, in RTP. Admission for CED members is $15; non-members $30.
