CED a Finalist for AeA's First-Ever "Spirit of Endeavor" Awards
Recognized in "Leadership in Technology Education" Category
April 17, 2003, Research Triangle Park, NC - The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has been selected as a finalist in the American Electronics Association's (AeA) Southeast Spirit of Endeavor Awards. CED joins two other organizations, ISS and Learning Labs, both based in Georgia, as finalists in the category of Leadership in Education by a Technology Organization.
AeA, the nation's largest high-tech trade association, will present the Southeast Spirit of Endeavor Awards on April 23 at an evening banquet in Atlanta, Georgia.
"Given AeA's quality reputation and vast industry network and expertise, CED is truly honored to even be recognized in the first-ever Spirit of Endeavor Awards," said Monica Doss, CED's president. "We feel the event speaks volumes to the progress of the region in terms of its future potential as a premier tech hot spot."
To submit candidates for consideration for the Leadership in Technology Education award, nominators provided a description of the company's activities relating to technology education, and answers to the following questions:
- How has this nominee positively impacted the technology industry with its leadership in educating constituents of the industry?
- How has this company demonstrated leadership and stepped up to the challenge of providing technology education?
- How has the nominee demonstrated that it serves as a "model for" others to follow its leadership in this area?
- How does this nominee represent the "Spirit of Endeavor"?
At the event, AeA will also recognize individuals and companies in seven other categories: Outstanding Leadership, Technology Entrepreneur, Emerging Business, Technology Innovation, Technology Innovation by an Educational Institution, Community Service Award, and Key AeA Volunteer.
