CED's Monica Doss to Receive Goodmon Award for Leadership
Doss Will Be Honored for “Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Individual” on Nov. 12
November 10, 2003, Research Triangle Park, NC — Monica Doss, president of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), will receive the 2003 Goodmon Award for Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Individual during a special ceremony hosted by Leadership Triangle. The official award presentation will be held at the Durham Centre from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Leadership Triangle established the annual Goodmon Awards in honor of James F. Goodmon, president and CEO, Capitol Broadcasting Company. The awards recognize leaders in the community that are regionally minded - and that exhibit that frame of mind throughout their lives.
“I am incredibly honored to receive a 2003 Goodmon Award,” Doss said. “Leadership Triangle has had a significant impact in this region's success over the years, and to be recognized by such an important group with this award is a high point for me personally and professionally.”
According to Leadership Triangle, the award for Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Individual is given to someone who embodies the concept of regional citizenship and who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to foster regional cooperation.
In addition to Doss' honor, the 2003 Goodmon Awards will also recognize area leaders in three other categories:
- Exemplary Regional Leadership by Elected Officials - State Senator Wib Gulley and State Representative David Miner
- Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Organization - Research Triangle Regional Partnership
- Exemplary Regional Partnership - The Triangle - A Family of Communities
