Final Round of Companies Selected for CED's Venture 2005

33 Companies from Across North Carolina Will Present at CED's 22nd Annual Venture Conference


February 17, 2005, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has chosen 20 additional companies to present at Venture 2005, bringing the total number of presenting companies to 33. Scheduled for April 26-27, 2005, at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC, Venture 2005 will continue a 22-year tradition of showcasing North Carolina's top investment opportunities to hundreds of venture capitalists and financiers from throughout the United States.

The asterisk (*) beside Biolex, LVL7 and Motricity denotes that each is a Venture 2005 “Showcase Company,” specifically selected to highlight the strengths of the region.

“From Asheville to Wilmington, from the Triangle to Charlotte and the Triad - Venture 2005 will feature a stellar line-up of high-growth presenting companies from a broad spectrum of industries, stages and regions in North Carolina,” said CED President Monica Doss. “We were fortunate to have another strong pool of applicants this year, making for a diverse and quality slate of companies selected to present at Pinehurst in April.”

In addition to company presentations, Venture 2005 will include leading industry speakers, extensive networking opportunities and exclusive investor-only events, all in the comfort of the renowned Pinehurst Resort. The overall conference co-chairs for Venture 2005 are Fred Hutchison of Hutchison & Mason and April Young of Comerica, Technology and Life Sciences Division.
