CED Accepting Demo Applications for InfoTech 2005
Early Application Deadline Set for June 17; Final Deadline is July 1
June 2, 2005, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is now accepting technology demo applications for InfoTech 2005, which will showcase innovative information technology from North Carolina-based entrepreneurial companies, university spin-outs, garage entrepreneurs, students, IT corporations and local research institutions.
Scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in RTP, NC, InfoTech 2005 presents an opportunity to display technology to investors, national and regional media, potential strategic partners and IT professionals. Those who apply before June 17 will save $100 on the participation fee if selected as a demo participant. The final demo application deadline is July 1.
Demo applications are now being accepted online at www.cednc.org/infotech_demoapp. Demo participant selection will be based on level of innovation, current/potential market application and “demo-ability.” CED is recruiting demo participants from area universities, research institutions, major IT corporations, individual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial companies at any stage or size.
Brooks Malone, chair of the InfoTech 2005 demo selection committee and a partner with Raleigh-based Hughes Pittman & Gupton LLP, said the conference provides a unique opportunity to present technology that is pushing the bounds of innovation.
“InfoTech 2005 will showcase a diverse representation of technologies from start-ups to universities,” Malone said. “Our goal is to highlight the best, brightest and most innovative technologies from the Research Triangle region and throughout North Carolina, including those pushing information technology into new spheres medical devices, new materials, wireless, nanotechnology and much more.”
Details on technology demos from last year’s InfoTech conference are available online at www.cednc.org/conferences/infotech/2004/demos. In addition to company demos, this year’s conference will also feature speakers and panel discussions on key issues and trends in information technology.
