CED’s Remona Ashford Promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations
Ashford Joined CED in 1998; Was Previously CED’s Vice President of Operations
September 15, 2005, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) today announced that Remona Ashford has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations. Ashford, who joined CED in 1998, was most recently CED’s Vice President of Operations.
Ashford joined CED in February 1998 as business manager. In May 2002 she became Vice President of Operations a position she held until her recent promotion. During her seven-year tenure, CED has grown from an organization with an operating budget of $600,000 and a staff of 7, to become the largest entrepreneurial support organization in the United States, with more than 1,100 member companies, an operating budget of $1.9 million, a private endowment fund and a staff of 21.
Ashford has led CED through seven consecutive successful audits - including CED’s first annual audit in 1999. Ashford’s other accomplishments at CED include the following:
- Developed the Human Resource System for CED, which includes a hiring, interviewing, and employee review process
- Developed the benefit fulfillment process for CED’s $4 million Innovation-to-Impact capital campaign
- Developed the plan and coordinated the design for upgrading CED’s infrastructure and systems (including security, servers and desktops)
- Implemented CED’s new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, called "myced"
“From operations to finance, from technology infrastructure to human capital management, Remona has played a vital leadership role at CED,” said CED President Monica Doss. “She is a dedicated member of CED’s team, and we look forward to having her on board for many more years to come.”
Ashford received her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of South Carolina at Aiken. In addition to her leadership at CED, Ashfold also volunteers her time as a member of Talis Homeowners Association; Treasurer of Brockton Estates Home Owners Association and is President and Founder of her family owned Property Management Company, Gray Dolphin Management, LLC.
